Nizamiye masjid or Nizamiye mosque as it’s often referred to, is in the city of Midrand. It is often termed as the biggest mosque to be there in the southern hemisphere. You admire the size while driving next to it, but the gigantism is felt when you enter. Nizamiye mosque has magnificent architecture. The sheer beauty of the art virtually takes you to turkey; it is also referred to as a replica of the blue mosque in turkey. It has a small gallery which depicts pictures from Islamic history and art, which is very captivating. The Turkish bakery and restaurant is an absolute worth to visit. The meals have great quality and are reasonably priced. The Turkish tea which they offer is also a must try. It is worth a visit if you are in Midrand.
