Great moderate hike to some nice falls. We went at a time that the water was a little higher and so it was muddy and not the best condition for swimming sadly... but twin falls was beautiful and I can only imagine how amazing it would be to swim in the pool!! If you walk further and go through the gate for “experienced hikers only”, the hike is not bad at all. You do have a stream crossing to do, which may have been higher when we went. If you are not sure footed and a strong current at the height of your calves could cause you to fall, it might not be for you... BUT if it pretty solid footing and the falls ahead is worth the crossing. Again, the pool and falls would be even more amazing with calmer and clearer water. The hike part really is pretty moderate, or even pretty easy. Just be careful on the stream crossing! I made my mom stay back since her balance is not the greatest.
The falls were engorged by the rain and the stream was moving fast, but it was absolutely gorgeous. We went very early to avoid the crowds, and while we walked the falls trails and saw all the beautiful flowers (so many, just everywhere) and huge stands of bamboo, we were there too early for the fruit stand. Well worth the trip tho, we'll be heading there again just for the fruit stand we missed! But we will go see the falls again too, well be there, why not! They're gorgeous!
Good road side stop where you can grab a bite to eat or something refreshing to drink from the stand at the entrance. Past the stall you will see a section of bamboo growing by the running water. You can walk up to the top of the twin falls or walk down a path to the bottom of the falls. Fairly easy walk, except a small section where you may need to climb. It had rained heavily the day before we arrived so the water was brown, but you could see and feel the power of the waterfalls.
Beautiful. Bring some swimming trunks. There are some easily accessed fun spots to soak and play. I didn't take the trail up to the main waterfalls but my son did. The pictures he brought back were stunning!
Went to the falls today. Make sure you have some type of water sock. Bc the are going to be crossing a little bit of a river. It is well worth the hike. The falls were amazing.
