Perhaps the most unique beach in the world, the Magic Sands beach is named after the mysterious phenomena of its disappearing and re-appearing sand! There are days when the beach is rocky and on other days it is covered in beautiful white sand.

The waves themselves are bigger than most beaches and even though the beach is a small one, it sure does exude a distinct charm.

Good place to body surf or simple lie on the beach while you listen to the soothing sounds of the waves.

  • I had booked a reservation with Kona Magic Sands #109 for two weeks. I had read the reviews and there were a couple which mentions issues with the stove and bathroom. Looking at the pictures it appeared that the bathroom had been remodeled and the stove replaced. I sent the property manager Mira an email asking if indeed the issues had been addressed. The next day I received a notice that my reservation had been cancelled with no reason for the cancellation. This is frustrating because I had already made my flight reservations and car rental. I had booked the rental in spite of the negative reviews because the unit was ocean front and at a great price. I did not expect perfection for the price, I just saw any improvements as a bonus if indeed they had taken place. I stayed at a beachfront property on Kauai that the front door did not lock, the refrigerator had a big hole between the freezer and cooling section, there were large cockroaches periodically, among other issues. However it was right on the ocean and the waves broke over the seawall in front of the house and the price was right. Not afraid of a few minor issues. It is extremely frustrating that Mira could not give me the opportunity to discuss it with her. It makes me wonder if there were more issues that were listed in the reviews.

  • Beautiful location. We stayed in unit 202. The view is exactly as described, beautiful. The room was almost exactly what we expected. Medium size studio, very comfortable. The pictures were fairly accurate. It is time to get in and do some paint touch up and repairs. And the humidity is starting to take its toll on some things maybe get them cleaned up with a wire wheel and repaint or replace with fiberglass and aluminum. But still worth the money we paid for the awesome sunsets and the beautiful views.

  • Our favorite beach in Kona Hawaii. . Easy access, nice parking lot opposite the beach.. kids had a blast there every day we visited😍😘

  • Kona magic sands is a great place to stay if you don't like the crowds and you want to be right on the water. Check out their rental condos on VRBO or home away.
