Kaliningrad has the mildest climate in Russia. Unlike the rest of Russia, Kaliningrad’s port remains unfrozen throughout the year. The best time to visit Kaliningrad is during summers. It is this time when the visitors can enjoy long walks around its sandy beaches. Winters in Kaliningrad are much more tolerable than the infamous harsh winters of Moscow and St. Petersberg. The climate remains, however, relatively cold.

• Summers: The hottest months are July and August. Summer here is predominantly warm but hot at times (with temperature reaching as high as 30 degree Celsius with plenty of sunshine interspersed with heavy rain. 
• Winters: The coldest time of the year is December through February. In winters, the temperature sometimes can drop down to as low as −15 °C (5 °F).
