The Constitutional Square covers around two acres of a beautiful green space in the heart of Kampala. Although tempting, no visitors are allowed to go near the memorial consecrated in 1939 “in memory of our glorious dead” as it is guarded by police officers. The local activists also call the Constitutional Square as the Tahrir Square. Surrounded by trees, the square is a vantage point for many birds. Visitors can sit back at a distance or take a leisurely stroll around watching the memorial and the birds.
