This ancient temple is standing testimony to the existence of Jains in Kanchipuram since the 9th century. There are two temples here, one is much smaller and dilapidated than the other. The bigger one has several frescoes and sculptures related to Hinduism and Jainism. The main deity here is Mahavira, and he is carved out of a brilliant pink stone. The ceilings of the temples are covered with vivid paintings depicting Hindu and Jain gods. This place is serene and transports you to another era.
