In order to watch the bird life in Kangaroo Island, you must visit the Duck Lagoon. Apart from watching the birdlife, you can also wander in the scenic walking trail that takes you along the banks of the lagoon and the Cygnet River. Prior to 1960s this lagoon was completely enveloped in Bullrushes and the water weeds. It was also home to Ducks, Moor Hens, Egrets and Herons. After 1960s the area was developed to offer the viewers a glimpse of the colony of ducks here. This lagoon is a perfect place to take your children along so as to make them acquainted with various forms of species of birds.
