Raptor Domain - Review
Raptor Domain in Kangaroo Island is a unique concept where you can interact with the rare species of animals so as to understand their patterns of behavior. The birds of prey displayed here are not caged rather they are allowed to interact freely with the visitors. The Raptors show offers a unique and entertaining experience while creating an understanding and appreciation for their role in the environment. The show is meant for all age groups. Apart from the raptors you can also interact with animals such as:
- Jedda, the majestic Wedge Tailed Eagle
- Casper the friendly Barn Owl
- Banjo and Clancy, the laughing Kookaburras - a favorite with the kids

Raptor Domain, Kangaroo Island Reviews
Great friendly staff, the lady in the office gave us recommendations to get the most out of our time and money. The presenters were full of knowledge and really confident in what they were doing and kept us all entertained for a whole hour, we even had a koala who tried to steal the spotlight who was just walking by. The birds do seem to have quite a short attention span and can be quite funny watching the presenters try and get there attention again, food seems to be a winner😁. Best part would definitely being able to hold the wedge tail eagle, that bird is incredible especially when it spreads its wings
With most of the residents having been rescued and nursed back to health by the wonderful group of staff here, it was fabulous to see them flying free and seeming to genuinely enjoy the interaction of the show as much as we did. It was educational, interesting, and a great way for the facility to raise money for the important work that they do. Loved it.
Great place to see raptors and a few other birds including magpies and black Cockatoos. Begin allowed to hold some of the birds a fine bonus. It was worth the extra donation at end of show to hold the mighty Wedge Tailed Eagle. In the middle of bush so the small refreshment centre a good idea. A good gift shop also.
We caught the afternoon Birds of Prey show and had a blast! I don't want to spoil it but there were so many exciting birds and it's amazing what the staff were able to train them to do. They are a sanctuary so a lot of those birds are rescues or the likes, which is nice to hear. They do educate on the birds that are native to Australia and their behaviors. Overall, recommend a visit. There is also a small food truck/shack on the outside that serve hot dogs/hamburgers that are OK. If you are planning on visiting and are hungry, keep that in mind when visiting, not much other food around the area.
The most amassing wildlife park we have ever visited. A hidden little gem on Kangaroo Island. I highly recommend the Raptor show and the Reptile show. If you get a chance to hold a Eagle at the end of the show it's a must. The kids loved it and also had the chance to hold an Owl.
