  • Nice visitor centre but food was not available. We could have made coffee. Gentle sloped board walk. Plenty of sea lions. Possible to take guided walk but we did not as we had already seen them in New Zealand. Must visit location when you visit KI. As you need to avoid driving in dawn and dusk, check tour times and time your visit. Have printed map with distance and driving times written as internet connection is patchy. This will help to modify your plan to get back in time. Good idea to keep packed lunch and cool drinks with you to free up time to look for a place to eat.

  • Great place to see wildlife in their natural habitat up close. Visitors can choose from a self guided or guided (for an extra cost) tour. There is a fee for entry to the park but the proceeds go to conserving the area.

  • Great area to visit in KI. The tour guide was fantastic and informative. I liked her real care for the seals and the environment. The place is beautiful to watch seals in their natural habitat. Well setup with a nice gift shop and clean bathrooms. There is an area to watch the seals if someone unable to go down the stairs.

  • Only place in the world to see these type seals. Completely wild. Complete freedom on a 5km stretch oh beach. If you get too close then the males will charge at you so stay back at least 15 meters. They can actually run 35kph if they wanted to. Cost is $45 per person.

  • Getting to know more about the seals from the tour was awesome! The place is well taken care of and the wildlife seem to be thriving in their environment.
