This island is also known as the Green Island. It is located in Thalassery in the Kannur district of Kerala. This is a small private island with fantastic beauty. This is an uninhabited island filled with dense coconut trees and overlooks the Thalaserry and the Anjarakandy Rivers. You can even walk your way to the island during a low tide when the water level is comparatively low. This place is surrounded by rivers on three sides and the Arabian Sea on its western side. This point of place is like a beautiful place where the four waters merge with each other.
Apart from the tall coconut trees, there are also colorful orchids that make this place even more charming. The color palette is complete with the brown rocks surrounding this place. The waves come and crash into these and make it a visual treat. The other rare plants here are Aamakazhuthu, Pullanzchi, Cheru Tree, Nanj and Thaani. The most striking feature is the well situated on the island.
This beautiful place was once known to be an important center for Buddhist Priests. It was taken up quite a few years ago for proper maintenance and conservation by the Kerala Tourism

I can swim in the beachAnswer Report Abuse
As far as I know, you can walk on the beach and go in the knee-deep water. But, I do not think the surrounding waters are ideal for swimming. You can still ask the locals when you are in Thalassery.Report Abuse
