Vattakottai Fort, Kanyakumari Reviews

  • Nice, calm place. heavy winds are there in fort during daytime. And breathtaking views from inside the fort. Children will have a nice time here.

  • It is a very nice and clean fort. You have a good view on the sea and it is a pleasure to roam around. There are no food options and it is not that easy to get here by local transport. But it is definitely worth to go. 4 stars - It would be nice to get more Information about the forts function and its role in history!

  • Very good place to list your day out with family and friends. Fort inside is well maintained. You can get amazing pics to memorize your visit. Atmosphere is very peaceful. Parking is not upto the standards needs improvement and also road leading to this fort is bit confusing considering road condition. It was good if they could have placed reading boards to understand more of this place rather relying on google as we had too to make understand of this scenic location.

  • Beautiful place. Nothing spectacular at first but do climb the steps to see the wonderful view of the sea. Then you come to understand the strategic location of the fort. The ramps for rolling up the cannons are seen alongside the steps. There is also a holding cell for prisoners. A basic pay n use toilet and a small store selling water and other packaged foods is seen right outside the fort. What is lacking is a plaque or tour guide to explain about the fort.

  • This is also known as Circular Fort. Has very nice views to offer once you climb up the steps. Unobstructed sea view in the front, wind mills on the left, and some majestic mountains behind. It's about 5-6 kms from Vivekananda rock memorial viewpoint, so one can easily cover this spot. Rs. 30 will be charged for a car after entering the road leading to the fort by local gram Panchayat, which includes parking outside the fort.
