Kapalua Bay Beach - Review
In 1991, this was named America’s best beach; that 15 minutes of fame turned into steady popularity. The two reefs that form the bay also form a shelter; the water is always gentle. This makes the beach an excellent place for snorkelling, especially for beginners and kids. The water at the centre of the beach tends to stir up the sand, but the northern side is pretty clear, and gets clearer the further out you swim. The fish at the reef come in every color in many varieties. It’s quite pretty.
Just off the beach is the Kapalua Coastal Trail. Check it’s location on a online map.

Kapalua Bay Beach, Kapalua Reviews
Amazing location for snorkeling. We saw some amazing fish and reef right off the beach. Very good place for beginner snorkelers and first timers. Not very crowded. Parking can be a pain but you can find paid parking a few minutes away at the tennis garden - $10 for the day.
I hate the idea of a great review drawing in more crowds, but I fell in love the moment I stepped on the beach. Fantastic snorkeling for people of all ages! Mellow waves, if any, but there are rocky bottoms so be careful. This is not a place to boogie board.
Best spot in Maui for snorkeling! We went to several spots and this place was better than Molokini Crater! Got to see eels, sea turtles, coral, and tons of fish! Parking isn't easy, but this beach is amazing!
Make sure to arrive early in the morning to enjoy this small pristine beach before the crowds. This is where you can get some stunning beach photos, the parking lot is pretty small, use your GPS to find it, it's easy to miss a bit hidden!
Beautiful beach with calm waters. Lots of sea turtles near the far rocks.
