In 1991, this was named America’s best beach; that 15 minutes of fame turned into steady popularity. The two reefs that form the bay also form a shelter; the water is always gentle. This makes the beach an excellent place for snorkelling, especially for beginners and kids. The water at the centre of the beach tends to stir up the sand, but the northern side is pretty clear, and gets clearer the further out you swim. The fish at the reef come in every color in many varieties. It’s quite pretty.

• There are showering and restroom facilities.
• No lifeguard.
• No food options at the beach, but there are some restaurants within a 10 minute walk.
• At a nearby rental hut, you can get beach equipment.

• You’ll have to drive. Ask locals for directions.
