A simple, uncrowded, windy, quarter mile beach. The word Oneloa means ‘long sands’. Don’t be turned off by the reef at the eastern end (it’s a common misconception that the reef stretches the whole length of the beach; it’s probably why the beach is usually empty). The far west end of the beach has a nice sandy bottom and is good for swimming. When the sea is calm, snorkelling is quite fun. During rough weather though, the surf can quickly turn dangerous, so watch out for it. The rip currents can become very strong.
- There is a car park.
- Drive onto Ironwood Lane; park, and turn left on foot. The footpath will lead you to the beach.
