The Phuktal Gonpa is a Buddhist monastery and is located in the remote Lungnak Valley of Zanskar. Built over 2550 years ago, the monastery is constructed around a natural cave. The Phuktal Monastery houses a main temple, a prayer rooms, many apartments, a library, teaching facilities and a sacred spring.
