Christ Church - Review
Located at the busiest street of the town, The Mall Road, this grand church is one of the major tourist attractions of the town. It was constructed in the British Era in Gothic style and still radiates the old world charm. Studded with pines and cobbled roads all across, Everyone lights a candle here, the devoted and the visitors alike. They have known to show appreciation post wish fulfillment through their generous contributions. A sundial is mounted on a stone pillar. The visits to the church lead to a short walk to the cemetery, which has tombstones from the 18th century also.
- The paint glass windows in the church are just as vivid even today. The painted glass was imported from England in those times.
- The outlook of the church is stunning, with a beautiful clockwater, which has not being working though.
The fragrance of the pines over the valley and the calm and serenity of the church is one to behold. Built amongst pine and chestnut groves, it has a big courtyard in front for cars to drive through.

Christ Church, Kasauli Reviews
Very nice place for outing with family, cool weather, peaceful, less polluted ! You can feel the nature's love. Your eyes will feel cool. Beware of 🐒. Not much parking space is there. You need to pay Rs. 100 to enter in the kasauli. All the views from this place are offering yoga for your eyes. You will feel yourself in the lap of nature.
Good place for feel some peace. The father of this church is very friendly. He give all information about church in a very nice way. The architecture of the building was good old vintage look. Open for all anyone who is interested to visit can go with freely mind.
Must visit if you're in Kasauli, just for its stained glass paintings. They, and some other art are remains from the British-era. Usually open from 10am to late in the evening. If you find it locked, you could always enquire about it from the Reverend who lives barely 200m away next to the Maj Dhyanchand chowk.
This place is quiet and beautiful. I came here twice on my short stay in kasauli as it is very peaceful. We shot some cool potraits here. Loved this place. There is no Entry fee. Just keep this place clean. From here you can go to lower mall road, Monkey point (4kms up), sunset point (2km). We took a walk from our hotel to church and them towards sunset point and Gilbert trail. It was magical. Truly blissful!!
Christ Church. What makes this church unique is the fact that it is the oldest church of Himachal Pradesh. Its picturesque structure and scenic beauty attract nature lovers from all across India. Dedicated to St. Francis and St. Barnabas, the present structure of the church was designed in the emblematic Gothic style architecture. Divine services of the church were started on 24 July, 1853, by Chaplain Thomas John Edward Steel, M.A., St. John's College, Cambridge. However, the church was revered as a holy place by Authority of the Bishop of Calcutta in 1857. Since 1970, the church has been regulated by the Church of North India (CNI), diocese of Amritsar. As soon as the sun shines, its rays enter through the painted mirrors of the church, which are vivid enough to rejuvenate the tourist. The stained glasses are imported from England when the church was built. The tombstones date back to the 1850s and earlier. The gray building of the church is ornamented with fantastic mirror work while the green color shack looks dramatic. The simplicity and charm of the building simply take the tourist back to the era when the British were ruling India. The church is made in a cross shape by British families who stayed in Kasauli, and its foundation, was laid by them in the year 1842. The distinctive church of the architecture includes a clock tower with a sundial in the front, main hall, cruciform floor, beautiful stained glass windows and an aisle which will lead to the beautiful altar sculpture, in which Jesus Christ is bound by Joseph and Mary. There are stained glasses over the altar image of Jesus Christ which depicts the Crucifixion where the image of Christ is flanked by those of Joseph and Mary. Most thrilling part of the church is its exteriors which are surrounded by a cemetery with graves dating back to 1850s and earlier. Since it's a contamination area, tourists are not allowed to make any noise or speak loudly here. Tourist can enjoy bird watching here or can relish the beautiful landscapes of Kasauli. Stop here awhile amidst the fragrance of pine and wood-smoke; and treasure the view of lush green landscapes
