Few things instill as much peace and calm in you as a long nature walk does. Carved stunningly between the greens and the blues, it is sure to bring about a different realization and a specific sense of stability in you. The hills have a way of confabulating and so do the trees. There’s a very specific charm and aura that they exude. Like the coming together of you with your inner self. The Gilbert Trail does the same magic of sorts on you. This place can be spotted about 700 metres ahead of Lover’s Lane and can be traced through Sunset Point. The mud track is approximately one and a half kilometers long and along 300 metres down the line, you will reach the end of the hills. It’s a magic of sorts in this path. It is a heaven for bird watchers and on good sunny days, you will also find the wild strolling by. The path narrows down as you walk by and the fresh breeze and exquisite views weave a story and delight of their own.
- The path can be slippery and therefore, it is advised to take care while making your way through the trail.
- The trekking path is not too tough and can be done with kids of the age of 4-9 years also.
- Recommended time of arrival: 7:00 am to 11:00 am & 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm

A nice and easy trail. Some great views. Sunset point and suicide point are seen. You can walk up to the base of the Air Force station too although they generally prohibit it, so don't get caught. Perfect place for a day trek. You can either carry foodstuff or come back to Tuck Shop (on main road at the beginning of the trail) for some good Maggi and tea.
The trail offers an amazing experience of the sweet smell of mountains, the chance of seeing the birds and animals at their natural habitat gave me immense pleasure and made me ponder upon the fact that stop and smell the roses again is a much needed medicene of this fast moving and evil world....TRULY A RECOMMENDED PLACE👍👌
Good experience of walk along the trail watching exotic view of valley and mountains. Vehicle has to be stopped at 200 metre distance and walk to the place. Rs 20 charged for parking as on 12 Nov. 2018.
A total must see. Just make sure you have company as it could get a bit eerie.
Great place to go at weekend and have a single day to spend with family and friends there. The beauty of the nature could be captured in many ways here.
