Charles A. Grignon House is a significant National and State historic site. This beautiful house is located on the banks of the Fox River and is surrounded by trees and lush green lawns. Charles A. Grignon, an active fur trader, built this house in 1837. The house, which became famous as ‘The House in the Woods’, was a wedding gift to Charles’s wife. Today, the house is converted into a small museum where you get to see how Grignons lived during the eighteenth century. The ancient furniture, kitchenware, and paintings have been restored. The house is not open for tours throughout the year. So, do not forget to call them before planning a trip.
