Anasakti Ashram - Review

Anasakti ashram has its history dating back to Mahatma Gandhi’s stay of two weeks where he exercised and wrote a treatise on Anasakti yoga. The place is dedicated in his memory and is conjoined with a study and a research center which exhibits the life story of Gandhi, his discourses to the people and the period of India’s struggle for freedom through photographs. Accommodation is offered on request and on prior booking. Tourists who avail for accommodation are provided with library for reading and a kitchen for cooking their own meals.

  • Best place for nature loves. You can staying here. It's better option comparison to hotels.

  • Worst thing I have ever faced. DO NOT - I repeat do not stay here at all, unless you have some emergency and unable to find any room elsewhere. And if you stay here you will face worst manager in the world. Don't expect any kind of service here. Forget drinking You won't get hot/warm water for bathing even in winters. You can't even ask for a spare blanket if you feel cold. Attitude of manager is such that you'll regret staying here. You'll feel like they don't want you to stay there and come there again. Only good thing about here is it's location. You get nice sunrise and sunset views from here. However it's an open place and you can enjoy the view if you'd staying nearby also

  • Peaceful and serene place where Gandhiji stayed for two weeks. He even described Kausani as the Switzerland of India because of its pristine beauty.

  • Peacefull Place Gandhi came here for 2 days but he loved this place so much and stayed here for a week. A must visit hill station for those who need peace of mind. Train can be used to to reach Kathgodam but ahead of that you need to take buses or private vehicles to reach Anasakti Ashram.

  • Very cool & calm place. Nature is manifested here richly. It is a very low priced accomodation & nice veg meals. I wish to reside here atleast for a month next time.
