The Shuswap Lake is located in the s outh central region of British Columbia and is drained by the Little River. The lake is also known as the Little Shuswap Lake. The lake is the source of water to the Thompson Lake, which is a branch of the Thompson River. The lake is in the heart of a region known as the Shuswap Country. Shuswap Lake is mainly famous for its lakeshore communities, such as the city of Salmon Arm. The lake forms the shape of the letter ‘H’ due to its four parts. These are the arms of the lake, as evident from the names of these parts - Salmon Arm, Anstey Arm, Seymour Arm, and the Main Lake. Like many other lakes of this region, this one also has its very own lake monster, namely the ‘Shuswaggi’.
