Set on the banks of the Lahn River in Seelbach, is the Kloster Arnstein. Dating back to the 11th century, this abbey is of great historical as well as religious significance. It was established in 1139 by Count Louis III of Arnstein. It was his castle which he converted into a monastery, where he joined the order and his wife too lived as a hermit till her end. Over the years, the abbey has gone through demolition and reconstruction and as of today, it stands as a monastery of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
