Bristol Renaissance Faire - Review

Bristol Renaissance Faire is a fair held in Bristol, Wisconsin. The venue for the event is a renaissance themed park which recreates Queen Elizabeth I visit of Bristol, a port city in England. The Fair occurs for nine weekends starting from early July and culminating on Labour Day. The whole setting takes you back to 16th century England which includes food, crafts, music, games and rides inspired from that time period. The costumes and the characters match the theme and there are chances that one may run into Jesters or sword fighters. Various items made of clay glass, leather etc are on display.

Bristol Renaissance Faire, Kenosha Reviews

  • Fun and unique experience. Employees and many guests dress the part for the period. Entertainment at every turn from free stage shows , games of skill, Renaissance roles played by employees, actors and audience members and people watching to your heart's content. Fun day. Good food and drink. For ages 3 to 90. Lots of walking and hills . Plenty of shade on hot days and shelter during rain.

  • This is an outstanding, theamed entertainment venue. Set in Elizabethan England, the fair is set in a market place. Tons of entertainment! From musicians to acrobatics, to sword play, to craft demonstrations. It's a wonderful place for the whole family, to forget your cares and be enveloped into the fair. All kinds of food for every taste. Hand maid crafts and shopping abounds. It is quite an experience. Plus you can dress up and become part of the whole scene

  • This was my first time to any type of Renaissance fair. My wife and I drove from 3 hours away and it was completely worth it. All of the employees were very happy and delightful to be around and watch perform. Many times we were looking at the map and had people approach us and ask if we needed any direction or any other questions. The food and drinks were fantastic, however be warned that they can be a bit expensive. It's convenient and the proceeds go to ensuring the fair can be around for years to come but expect higher prices. Come early right as they open and plan for a good chunk of the day to see everything. All the shows were well worth watching. Very skilled in pulling in the audience.

  • I definitely understand the allure of this place, but it's not something that truly appeals to me. You pay admission to gain access to an old-world shopping mall and food court. Virtually nothing comes with the price of admission except the ambiance. Rides, food, clothing, trinkets...all a separate charge. Sure, technically the shows are "free," but the actors make it known they get the majority of their earnings from tips. And please don't think I'm saying the actors aren't good...they are fantastic at what they do! I just don't understand the price of admission into a world where nothing is included in the price. Also, they'll try to get you into a Friends of the Park deal for an extra $10. It's a shaded rest-zone with unlimited water, gatorade, snacks, and hot water. Sounds great, until you realize it is only one area in an extremely large expanse of land. Were they to have 2 of these locations on opposite sides of the park, this would be a great deal. If it were not for this wretched admittance fee, I'd have nothing but glowing reviews for the place. Everyone is in character, and boy, are they good at it (even the people who dress up and aren't employees)! The shows are fantastic, the food is decent and not terribly priced, and parking is either cheap or free (depending on where you park).

  • AMAZING! If I could give more stars I would. Parking is a good walk away so if you have any issue you can either pay for closer parking or have the driver drop off. Lines to get in weren't horrible either, though I've heard they can be. If you aren't utilizing any discounts, you can get them online to save time. After your in, head straight to guest services to get a schedule and a map. Then, find a seat grab a Turkey leg and plan your day if you haven't already. The fair is really too big to do all in one day, so if you don't have 2 days be sure to plan! Get to events early to get good seats. Have fun! There is so much to see and everyone is nice, you really just can't go wrong. It's great for all ages truly.
