Ernest Hemingway House And Museum - Review
Ernest Hemingway House and Museum also known as Ernest Hemingway House. Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum located at 907 Whitehead Street and nestled in the heart of Old Town Key West. Not many know this but Nobel Prize laureate, Ernest Hemmingway spent around a decade in Key West and wrote about 70% of his books, many of them known to be his best works, in this beautifully built Spanish Colonial stone hemingway house key west. Hemingway is said to have lived in this house at Key West till his death; the house has been preserved in its original state. Unfortunately, not a lot of his personal belongings are on display here. A few letters written to him, some of his books and plenty of photographs to help visualize his everyday life are some of the exhibits showcased. Hemmingway was known to have an affinity for the feline clan and even today, you’ll see a lot of cats in the compound, including descendents of the six toed cats. Hemingway house tickets includes a guided tour.

Ernest Hemingway House And Museum, Key West Reviews
I love this place. If you got yourself in Key West, you definitely should go there. Its extremely interesting. Lady who was our guide is friendly and she love her job I should say. Plus there is many cats with interesting background, i will attach picture of their paw. They also will provide you with booklet on many languages, there you will find information that could be interesting about Hemingway and his mansion. You won't regret this interesting experience at Hemingway house.
I've always wanted to visit Hemingway House. It was interesting, the guide was friendly and affable. The photos of Hemingway throughout the house really brought him to life for me. The 57 six toed kitties that live on the estate seem happy and like Garbo they "vant to be left alone"! You can pet them, but don't pick them up. Not a disappointment, make sure you stop by the Ernest Hemingway House. You will not regret it.
This was my third time to Key West, but my first time to the EH Home and Museum. I wish I'd been before, because now I'd like to visit each time. It's a time-warp back to the origins of what made the town so unique in all the world, and on top of that a detail-rich peek into the life of one of the world's greatest writers. I was fascinated by the descriptions and intricate stories told by my group's guide, Doug. He was great! Everyone from entrance attendant to gift shop staff, and of course including my guide was top-notch in a Key West, easy-going, hospitable, and friendly way. Thank you!
Interesting tour on the life and home of this famous author. The cats roaming around the property are a nice link to the past. It's okay to pet them, too. The house is beautiful and is, to my surprise, Air conditioned. The tour guides are full of fun little stories and facts about his life, the history of key west and that of the house. Highly recommend this tour.
What a wonderful opportunity to walk in the home and beautiful gardens of one of my favourite authors. My daughter really enjoyed it too. Super access to the home and a lovely gift shop too. We even saw descendants of his great 6 toed cat ! A super afternoon in Key West.
