Events and Festivals in Key West
- Annual Key West Literary Seminar (January): The Literary Seminar in Key West aims to harbour and develop the literature bug inside you by hosting a variety of authors from all over the country. Spread over four days, every year, the fest has an underlying theme which influences the book readings, panel discussions and lectures, etc.
- Hemingway Days Festival (July): Ernest Hemingway’s connection with Key West is no secret. Having written 70% of his work here, Key West has done everything possible to showcase this pride- one way they do is by hosting the Hemingway Days Festival. It’s a weeklong activity filled with activities like Hemingway look alike and literary competitions judged by the late author’s grand-daughter.
- Fantasy Fest (October): After you’ve been a part of the Fantasy Fest week, Halloween won’t be nearly as exciting. The week leading up to Halloween is the week the residents of Key West take really seriously! All the shops and streets are in competition with each other and are decked up from floor to ceiling. The people too deck up in shocking costumes and/or body paint.
