Known as the nation’s southernmost state park, Fort Zachary Taylor is a National Historic Landmark. Built during the Civil War, the Fort had been used by the Yankee forces as a hub for Confederate ships and was used as a strategic location during the American-Spanish war. The best way to see the Fort would be to opt for the 30 minute guided tour that takes place at noon and then 2 pm.
