Key West Butterfly And Nature Conservatory, Key West Reviews
I had to stop here because I saw a lot of tourists walking around with a butterfly sticker on their shoulder advertising this place. It’s walking distance from the Southernmost Point so it’s in a great location. It’s kept beautifully clean and the butterfly room even has two flamingos. Butterflies are everywhere and I love that this place offers education about their life cycles as well. The gift shop is a bit dangerous because of all of the cute little items. A definite must-do if you’re in the area.
This is a great place to visit with kids, but the whole family will enjoy it. It is more fun if there are fewer people on the paths, since these are narrow. It's like being inside a well stocked and maintained terrarium, with butterflies, small birds, 2 flamingos, and some turtles. We have been many times, and are happy to go back. Your admission will also allow you to go back the same day, so you can visit more than once. They have a great butterfly themed gift shop, if you're looking for something different for a butterfly fan, young or old.
What a treat from the local Key West scene.... relaxing and air conditioned comfy....Very worth the stop... affordable (with many discounts offered) and soothing with the nice music and waterfalls and unique butterflies everywhere in their natural habitat.. even little birds if you look closely... At the top of the street.. away from the hustle/bustle tourist scene... on Duval near the Cuba 1 mile marker... We noticed it this trip... never knew it existed!!! If you enjoy butterflies... this is a must... An absolute treat!!!
While this place is quaint and beautiful on the inside, the admission price was a little high for a quick walkthrough. For the admission price of about 13 bucks you walk around a greenhouse that has a winding path with a river through it. There are turtles, flamingos and a lot of butterflies. The only really cool part I liked was seeing all the cocoons on display. It is a little humid inside for those who are sensitive to heat. If you have kids, they will love it. Great photography opportunity if you like to take nature photos.
A charming conservatory. You will have butterflies landing in your hair or fluttering by your nose while tiny quail run by your feet. The gift shop has a lovely variety of items, from small souvenirs to genuine works of art. Well worth the visit!
