The farm house was built in the 1850s. It became popular as the Civil War monument after the battle of Gettysburg in 1863. The history tells us an interesting and frightening war story about this farm. The trestles chose to stay at the farm even during the battle period but had forced to leave it abruptly during the fighting. They even had to leave dinner on the table. And when they came back after the war was over, they were greeted by the hole on the south side of the house where cannon ball had gone through the wall. Other belongings were also destroyed or looted. East side of the house still has many bullet holes.
