Borglum Story, Keystone Reviews - Write a Review
If you like history and/ or art you will really appreciate this museum. Admittedly I am biased since I worked there 8 years, but I also really enjoyed telling people the story of Gutzon Borglum. Gutzon Borglum was a fascinating fellow and this museum will tell you all about his life before and during the Rushmore project. Without Borglum mount Rushmore simply would not have existed. I have 5 small kids now, and I probably won't take them through until they are a little older, but for anyone high school and up who enjoys a good story, Borglum's life provides it. I also noticed that one of the reviews mentions the wand sticks that were hard to use, and I agree they were hard to explain too. They are gone now, and a different and I believe better system is in place.
No nose Jake told me nice story. Told me not to share it. Sorry. No cussin, no spittin , no pistols . Pick the s..t after you horse. Be nice to ladies. Sheriff's mean deputies trigger quick. Be happy in town.
With a marketing campaign that mirrors Wall Drug it should be no surprise that this also doesn't live up to the hype. Just go see Rushmore.
Great stop before Rushmore!
Nice museum to see the history of the sculptor of Rushmore before he did Rushmore. It is an audio guided tour. So it mostly sets the pace. If you don't have patience for it there is a shorter (cheaper) tour where you can look at some stuff at your own leisure. Both tours come with a movie to view, but I was not able to see it due to a fussy child.
