  • Beautiful, well maintained, nice gift shop. None of the other attractions were open due to the fact that it was winter and late in the afternoon. My only complaint is that dogs are not allowed past the first plaza. We were traveling with our dog and one of us had to stand outside while the other went in to see the memorial. It would have been nice to experience it together.

  • This is a must see. Absolutely amazing and breath taking! We went during the slow season (March), but the weather was perfect, there was hardly anyone there so there was plenty of parking, we pretty much had the park to ourselves. The museum isn't very big but has a lot of valuable information, as well as a gift shop and a theater with a short film. There is a bigger gift shop on the grounds, outside of the museum. There is also a restaurant with a cozy fireplace. It had delicious food, even my picky mother loved it! I was so impressed! Reasonably priced. Coffee, too. Overall, the park was very clean.

  • Perhaps the most unmistakably American landmark is Mount Rushmore, a national memorial located in South Dakota. Constructed in the early 20th century, Mount Rushmore depicts the faces of four former American presidents, each of which is carved and blasted from the side of a rock face. Visitors can admire the larger-than-life faces of Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. The short Presidential Trail at the base of Mount Rushmore provides better views and an interesting perspective on the landmark.

  • Mount Rushmore was very neat and well-maintained despite visiting in the off season. The entrance fee was reasonable and is good for the rest of the calendar year! The little restaurant was delicious and even had dessert! The ranger was super kind and informative and the museum provided excellent information. It was a pleasant visit and great photo opportunity!

  • When you get there, you park after paying a $10 car fee. You navigate your way up some steps, then find yourself in front of pillars before an information center awaits you. There is a big bust of a man, and then down a long walkway you go with the American state flags above you. Then it's there. You could see it before from the car as you came in and you've seen pictures, and when you come up to the wall that guards you from falling, your eyes look up the mountain and see four faces. The entire thing looks like a 2D cutout, but it's real. It's so very real, and so very awe-inspiring. There are binoculars that you can pay for with plaques all over. It's incredible, put this on your bucket list.
