Gunpowder Falls State Park Reviews & Ratings

  • We went for the first time today and visited the beach area. We had a magnificent time. The kids had a blast and were the best kind of tired when it was time to go home. Lifeguards were on top of everything. Bathrooms were clean and convenient. And very inexpensive. An all-around wonderful day!

  • Really amazing park that you can go tubing at. The depth of water changes from shallow to pretty deep. I recommend water shoes because the river is rocky and slippery. The current is stronger than it looks in some parts of the river so I’d also recommend a life jacket if you aren’t a swimmer. As someone from NYC, it was a mix between the lazy river at a water park and being in Central Park, but created by nature. If want to feel connected to nature and like a little adventure but don’t want to travel too far, this is it. It’s also a good day trip.

  • Great place to go hiking with various degrees of difficulty. Also a good place to swim. Just need to note that there is no life guards, so it's at your own risk.

  • Very beautiful and busy on Sundays. Can swim in river at your own risk. Must bring out all your garbage with you. Has a parking lot as well.

  • The decision makers for this park clearly need removed. The fact they made the park inaccessible by installing loads of no parking signs on both sides of the road knowing the parking area is not large enough. then to do repair work in the summer months instead of earlier in the year or later and make it impossible for the parking area to be used and then punish the people and collect revenue from them to pay for their terrible decisions. Local Bureaucrats not only behave like tyrants they are obviously not well at planning or thinking ahead.
