Dating back to the 1600s, the Kinsale Museum was originally built as a courthouse that was used for the judicial inquiry into the sinking of the Lusitania. The main structure of the museum is said to be dating back to the 1590s, and some records also show that it also served as a market house. A simple and elegant facade was added to the building in the year 1703 and you can clearly see the reflection of Northern European architecture in the same. Another striking feature is the Venetian window which is located above the entrance gate.
