Ijams Nature Center, Knoxville Reviews
This is a nice park. Perfect for kids. There are plenty of trails, all of them relatively easy. Leashes dogs are allowed. There is a nature center and there was an employee who brought out live owls and an opossum. There are rocks for the kids to climb on. The zip lining and tree houses weren’t open buy looked really cool.
Summer Camp Registration... We've sent 2 emails to Director and Assistant, 3 voice messages to Ashland (recommended by front desk), and 2 other messages with person answering phones stating we had questions about their summer camp. GOOSE EGG, not even a response. Ijams is a great place to get a small hike in, but wouldn't trust their staff to run a Summer Camp. You decide.
This place is so wonderful! Private park, but it’s free! Indoor and outdoor exhibits. A challenging ropes course. Plenty of space to hike/roam. Bike trails. Snack shop and beer!
This nature center is beautiful. In addition, the people who work and volunteer here are a wealth of information, and are dedicated to educating the public. Check out their “events” tab on their webpage; the number and variety of their programs (for all ages) is phenomenal!
Beautiful place to take a nice winter hike! Lots of peace and serenity. Some of the trails are no joke either. Easy way to get a nice outdoor exercise in without driving all of the way to the Smokies.
