The Volunteer Landing Park overlooks the Tennessee river and is loved for its waterfront walking area. Evening lights up the whole park into the perfect place to take a stroll and if you are visiting by day, take a moment to simply soak up the view with the boats and the city-line which is reflected in the water!
At the far end of the park, you might see the rowing team practicing in the river. Bicycling through the park is the best way to see it.

Volunteer Landing Reviews & Ratings
Very nice area. The walkway goes for miles along the river; plenty of trees, restaurants, bridges, boats, fishermen, the Chattanooga train line and much more. A great place for a bike ride, a family walk, photography, contemplating, chilling, and exploring. A must see area. I just moved to Knoxville and I am very glad I found Volunteer Landing. Plenty of easy access parking. cmilton111 Google Guide 10.2.2019
Always a treat to visit Volunteer Landing! We visited the Nina & Pinta docked here for tours. The staff was very friendly and informative. They showed us around and gave facts about operations. The tour depending on interest could last up to an hour. It is kid friendly and under 4 is admitted free. They also have souvenirs to purchase that help support their travels. Definitely worth a visit for any history buff.
Such a vista...bittersweet...left my daughter in Tennessee to be a Vol. It's all about growin' up. Take good care of her, Tennessee!!
I haven't been to the river in a long time but it was really nice there and seeing the two ships was very interesting.
Beautiful area. Fairly quite. Other than traffic. Had a great time dipping my feet into the Tennessee River.
