The William Hastie Natural Area is spread over 75 acres of natural trails, pathways and woodland. A favourite place for hikers and mountain bikers, the whole place is even more pleasant if you walk through the woodlands while bird-watching.

If you are looking to get away from the hustle-bustle of the downtown area and want to see yet another of Knoxville’s brilliantly maintained forests, take a small hike through this area.

The place is also a stunning place for photography.

  • Awesome place to ride your bike awesome features and not too difficult. Beginner friendly but still fun and challenging

  • Very narrow road and it goes both ways to get to the trails.Be careful. Very woodsy. Was not expecting it to be.Ruined my shoes from the mud. Thought we were going on a walk like a man made woodsy trail but this was the real deal. Definitely a place to wear boots or hiking shoes not regular shoes and to pack water and be prepared. Told my friends I was scared I was gonna hear banjos 🤣

  • Very beautiful and rustic. I wish the trails were better marked. Very easy to get lost. Would be nice to have printed maps available.

  • Great place to hike and just chill. Lots of bikers so hike with care!

  • Not sure if this is a trail to walk through. Seems like more of a bike trail. Pretty sure the entrance/exit is too narrow for 2 cars to pass by each other. I ❤️all parks!
