Lamai Beach, Ko Samui Reviews
A nice long beach, picturesque in areas. I took a long walk all the way along it and back to get a feel for what's on offer. Lots of beach front bars, restaurants and also hotel/bungalow type places if you need them. The sea isn't very clear but is warm. Toward the rock formations the sea becomes more rocky (obviously) so tread carefully as you get in.
A better beach on Samui, but unfortunately still just a beach on Samui. If you haven't planned your travel yet, pick a different island. I highly recommend the Andaman Sea over the Gulf of Thailand.
A very nice beach. Clean, good access to restaurants by night and you don't have to go far out in the water to be able to swim.
Beautiful beach. Nice and quiet. A nice escape from Chaweng. Not as touristy.
Stayed at Lamai Inn 99 for 5 nights. Villa on the beach front, so fantastic location. Clean but dated rooms. Some staff need to smile more but in general all OK. Hotel is on quiet road off from the main town road, so not disturbed with nightlife. Breakfast adequate and eaten right on the beach. As for the Island, best to hire mopeds and see it all. 150bt for full day if you barter. Make sure you wear crash hats as the police can and will fine you. Try to find real local small roadside eateries on your moped travels. Cheap, good Thai food and family run. They are so friendly and happy that you stopped and chose them. Land of smiles is true.
