  • Stayed at Lamai Inn 99 for 5 nights. Villa on the beach front, so fantastic location. Clean but dated rooms. Some staff need to smile more but in general all OK. Hotel is on quiet road off from the main town road, so not disturbed with nightlife. Breakfast adequate and eaten right on the beach. As for the Island, best to hire mopeds and see it all. 150bt for full day if you barter. Make sure you wear crash hats as the police can and will fine you. Try to find real local small roadside eateries on your moped travels. Cheap, good Thai food and family run. They are so friendly and happy that you stopped and chose them. Land of smiles is true.

  • Great atmosphere, good variety of bars and restaurants. Easy to get around on foot and not in your face like Chaweng Beach. Nice beach with lots of free sunbeds and restaurants/bars. Relaxing resort with plenty of late night attractions if you want to stay out and see the sunrise 🌅

  • Lamai Beach is the second biggest beach on Koh Samui. Since I can only assess it in its current state (23. Nov) it may be different than other descriptions. The beach itself is quite dirty, everywhere is wood laying around, probably because of the tides and strong waves at this time. Even during low tide you can access the water, because the coast is going deep very soon. You can lay on sand or choose the sunbeds of one of dozens of bars. Bars and restaurants and Hotel resorts are all along the beach and that takes away the spirit of palms and nature. It is very practical for having drinks and food though. All in all its an experience like everywhere where is beach and tourism.

  • Perfect for family and a relaxing holiday. Lovely beech, great restaurants. Close to most local attractions such as elephant trekking and waterfalls. Not as busy as Chaweng but close enough to travel if you are looking for more action.

  • Beautiful beach with lovely restaurants and many resorts. Nice balance of party and relax. Still suitable for families.
