Kobe Port Tower - Review
Completed in 1963, this hyperboloid tower is a classic tourist trap. The tower is 108 meters tall and there is an observation deck at 90 meters, with 360 degrees panoramic views of the city. It looks like an elongated Japanese drum. It is one of the city of Kobe's landmarks. The views from the top look out to Mount Rokko, Kobe, Kobe Port, and out to Awaji Island in Osaka Bay. If you reserve a spot, on New Year's Eve you can catch the sunrise from the top of the tower.

Kobe Port Tower, Kobe Reviews
We were there in May 2018 and there was a really nice fair on in the Kobe Port Tower area. Lots of good food stalls, including excellent Kobe beef and other food! We went up the tower and it was really nice to see the whole area from a higher view point. Meriken park is very close by where you can chill out and laze around for a bit. There is also the earthquake memorial within walking distance, which is well worth looking at. And also the Technology museum which is also very good to see. However there is Hotel Okura Kobe just opposite which is actually higher, and it has a rooftop where you can also get excellent views and have some nice food.
I visited here in late of April this year. The whether is quite great, cool windy and sunny with clear sky. There was an event, "Taste of Kobe" which you can buy foods and drinks then sitting beside the bay with live band music. Overall, I think it is worth to visit as a Kobe landmark and take some photo for your good memory.
It is really good to visit this place at night, because we can see the beautiful harbour arranged with lights and surrounding by unique architectures.
A wide space to relax and unwind . Unfortunately wre there on the afternoon which is hot . Propose to be there on night time to enjoy and feel the full experience including the cruise.
While it might not have the same prestige as the Space Needle, the Kobe Port Tower seems to be the most fitting complement to it's sister city's iconic landmark. Situated at the north end of Osaka Bay, the tower features 360 degree views of Kobe for a mere 7000 yen. If you're a thrill seeker, I recommend stepping on the electrochromatic glass near the top.
