Kobe Port Tower - Review

Completed in 1963, this hyperboloid tower is a classic tourist trap. The tower is 108 meters tall and there is an observation deck at 90 meters, with 360 degrees panoramic views of the city. It looks like an elongated Japanese drum. It is one of the city of Kobe's landmarks. The views from the top look out to Mount Rokko, Kobe, Kobe Port, and out to Awaji Island in Osaka Bay. If you reserve a spot, on New Year's Eve you can catch the sunrise from the top of the tower.

  • Very nice place to visit and have good memories. It has a great atmosphere mostly in the evening, there are different places to see and many fun activities taking place. It's a good place to hang out with friends or even alone. Taking the fact that it's has no entrance fee, so the experience will be really worth it. Highly recommended.

  • Not much things to do there. But there’s an eatery area nearby. There’s a lot of variety of food and shopping. Good place to have dinner or just chill out at the sea. Night view is great with the tower lit up and the boats are just amazing with the lights.

  • It is very worth it to visit during sunset because of the combination of the color of the sky, the lights and the tower lights really spoil your eyes. There are some good restaurants around this place. Besides you can also take a ride on the ferris wheel. Honestly, the wheel was quite expensive, so we decided not to take it although I realise I will miss the amazing moment of sunset from the wheel when it reaches the top. You can also see some huge cruise getting close to the hotel in the port. You can enjoy and see some students doing their fun activities around here too. Make sure you bring camera/cellphone fully charged if you don't want to miss the moment by taking a lot of pictures

  • Such a pretty place. Time your visit so you can enjoy the evening lights and stroll around the area ..

  • The view is great but be aware that the elevator will take you to the top and you have to go down 3 flights of stairs to get to the elevator that takes you to the ground floor.
