In many ways the park is entirely ordinary, but it's not hard to appreciate its sole claim to fame - the view of the largest suspension bridge in the world, the Akashi-Kaikyo, as it soars from above the park out over the sea. There is just no beating the view. It's probably the best easy-to-reach spot in the city from where to catch the sunset. Near the park, there's a concrete manwalk where you'll find locals fishing. If you want to get closer to the water, there's the Azur Maiko Beach, a popular swimming spot. You'll also find a monument at the park - an inscribed poem by the Meiji Emperor.
