This Garden is part of the series of attractions on Mount Rokko. Opened in 1933 at 850 meters above sea level this Alpine Botanical Garden is home to about 1,500 mountainous plants from Japan and the Himalayas - maple, beech, hydrangea, ekianthus. The ecosphere recreated in the garden is close to these plants' native habitats. The changing of the seasons brings all the colors of these plants out to play including those of cherry blossoms and autumn leaves. The best time to visit is probably in autumn between mid-October and mid-November.
