The rivers Mosel and Rhine meet at the tip of this headland. The part that always gets the tourist excited is how the different colors of the two rivers meet. A great statue of Kaiser Wilhelm I on horseback towers above the attraction– it’s said to express German might, optimism and nationalism. And that’s not the only bit of nationalism you’ll see – there’s a great big national flag, and 16 state flags flying high over the corner. Another fun thing to do is see passenger ships carefully navigate their way from the mouth of one river into the other. Once you’re done taking in the sights, it’s time for a stroll along the lovely flowery paths that stretch down and away from the headland.

  • I had prepared some material about it and we used it for learning some history. Quite impressive monument and views.

  • very nice place to relax with great views of the rhine and moselle. there is a nearby cable car taking you up to a fortress from where you can see the whole city.

  • One of the German Empire's monuments to the honour of its Kaiser at the confulence of Mosel and Rhein. It is in much better shape than e.g. the Bismarck tower in Hamburg. By some additions and the Eu+US flags this is a monument of German history from the French German War over the iron curtain to the European Integration in recent days.

  • An impressive statue with a beautiful wiew over the Rhein and Mosel. All in a walking distance from the beautiful city centre of Koblenz

  • Where Father Rhein (Rhine) and Mother Mosel (Moselle) meet together. Nice place to spend a day around, perhaps even take a boat trip from nearby.
