Dutch Palace Mattancherry Palace, Kochi Reviews
It's a beautiful place and the museum is amazing. It has really good wall murals. Also, they showcase attires and things used by kings that were used. There are restrictions on photography hence I can share only one image that I took where I was allowed to
Dutch palace or Mattanchery palace has great historical relevance. It is constructed by Portuguese and is renovated by Dutch during their reign. The palace welcomes you with the stark white walls and sloping roof. The small temple inside the palace and the mural paintings depicting the Hindu mythologies will fascinate you .Except Fridays, the palace is open to visitors from10 am to 5 pm. It is close to Cochin city. You can reach there either through road or by taking boat service.
Very good historical building. The first building in India build by Europeans. But still lack of some basic facilities likely public wash rooms. The murals inside here is awesome..
Nice ancient collection. Must visit when you are in Fort Kochi. Small park nearby. attached market for shopping antiques, clothes, decorative items, small restaurants for a quick bite. Must go for a boat ride nearby, recommended to take a personal boat for a group of people and if less than 6 or then then go for the common big boat.
The palace is a place to visit for someone visiting Kochi. It's a small charming place. You can finish it in either 15 minutes or take longer to take in the different exhibits. It is a good stop when the sun is high and you need some respite from the heat. The staff are courteous and pleasant. The improvement can be made in amenities like water and washroom, which would be a great help especially for families with kids
