Dutch Palace Mattancherry Palace, Kochi Reviews
The palace is a place to visit for someone visiting Kochi. It's a small charming place. You can finish it in either 15 minutes or take longer to take in the different exhibits. It is a good stop when the sun is high and you need some respite from the heat. The staff are courteous and pleasant. The improvement can be made in amenities like water and washroom, which would be a great help especially for families with kids
This palace doesn't have much to see. It says the history about Kochin's ancient rulers, their dress, weapons. But the palace is really nice. I'd better stay there. Loved to sit near the window staring the beauty outside. Entry ticket is Rs.5.
Nice serene place. No public toilet i think.Small parking fee is there. Pigeons make the place retro and beautiful. Nice paintings to see. Historically significant place. Best places to take a stroll. Behind there is market for kerala curios items.
Firstly its a museum, all you can see is various wall paintings and some of the old tools used by i don't know. entrance fee is only 5 Rs. and never visit Kerala in summer, you will melt faster than ice. coming back to this place. you don't find toilets (In case if there is an urgency you have to do it in your pants :D), no good hotels nearby, you get lot of good stuffs for your showcase but you need to bargain a bit to get a good price. the place is quite reachable, its better not to go in auto cos they charge a lot if they know you are tourist , better get a two wheeler to roam around. all i can say about this place is , you can cover the entire place within 30 mins. even though if you struggle a lot to spend more time you cannot, because there is nothing entertaining. i think my review is bigger than this place, that's enough, bye
Amazing insight into the life if Kerala royalty. It's a shame you can't take a pic. But the wall paintings and the royal artifacts are worth a visit. The negligible entry fee makes you wonder who pays for the upkeep of the old palace. Do make sure to drop here if you are even a tiny bit interested in Kerala's history and culture.
