Kodaikanal Lake, Kodaikanal Reviews

  • After we were dropped off in the town after sightseeing at 1600 hrs., we ate and head straight to the lake. Lake is normally the drop off point after local sightseeing tours. The lake is around 6 Km in circumference and the road surrounding the lake is smooth, well paved and safe to walk. Cycles are available for hire @ RS 50 per half hour. We walked around the entire lake. It’s a very good way to have a conversation with your family and friends. By the time were reached back at the hotel it was already dark. (Point of caution: Since it is a hills station it gets dark quickly after sunset. Sections of the road around the lake are not lit. So be careful in those parts while walking or cycling.) Lots of shops are available to shop for local products such as chocolates, eucalyptus oil, tea & coffee powder, Natural shampoos, soaps etc...

  • Best place to spend time in Kodaikanal. Water is clean and the surrounding area is also very beautiful. Various shops are also located around the perimeter serving food items and souvenirs. Must try boating around sunset time. Morning jogs and cycling is also recommended ( bicycles are available on hourly rental basis).

  • This lake is well maintained and they are couple of boat clubs which gives you peddle or row boats go to around the lake. Boating is usually very crowded on weekends. If you are not interested in boating you can go for a walk around the lake and take some great snaps. Cycles or horse riding are also available for rent near the lake.

  • An early morning walk around the lake or even better a jog or even better cycling is a wonderful feeling. Healthy to the physique healthy to the mind and the scene around the lake make you feel light hearted. Going boating is another famous thing to do. Or you can go shopping around the lake or have some snacks. Great shopping. Great lemon tea. Home made chocolates. Wow i love kodai

  • Nice place to visit.. it is a huge lake and you can enjoy the lake view from the top and also we can go walking around the lake and we can even take rented bicycle to go around the lake.. we can also enjoy the horse ride near lakeside.. we have lot of shops near the lake as well..
