The place got its name BBD by combining the initials of three freedom fighters who were hanged here. Previously called as Dalhousie square, it is here where three courageous souls Benoy-Badal-Dinesh were executed henceforth providing it with its new name as a tribute to their sacrifice. Today, BBD Bagh is considered to be among the most popular attractions owing to the numerous Victorian styled buildings, marketplaces and government offices housed here. Just a stroll through its surrounding is enough to take you on a walk back in time. It is also fondly called as ‘Office Para’ by folks thanks to the number of offices it has. Some other highlights of this place include Telephone Bhawan, St. John's Church and the statue of Maharaja Lakshmeshwar Singh. Check them out and once done, have your fill in one of the many food joints around.
