  • Built in 1868, the GPO is notable for its imposing high domed roof which rises to about 220 ft and tall Ionic-Corinthian pillars. A Postal Museum that was built in 1884 displays a collection of artefacts and stamps. The site where the GPO is built was actually the site of the first Fort William.

  • Very unhappy with GPO Kolkata. A parcel was posted on 02.12.2017 but not yet delivered till today (11.12.2017) evening. When enquired the Consignment number, it says attempted delivery on 09.12.2017(Saturday) on instruction keep it in deposit. GPO must be aware that Banks are closed on 2nd and 4th Saturday. And should have delivered the parcel today. Very disgusting....

  • Opens Mon-Fri 10AM-8PM. Services are good. International Speed Post is available.
