Kalighat Kali Temple - Review
Kolkata was named after this temple and chiefly because of this fact, hundreds of visitors are fascinated by this temple every day. A classic showcase of Kolkata itself, the temple is a heady mix of dirt, crowds and spirituality. Kalighat is a mad, smelly, dirty, wonderful, vibrant, crazy place that is really like the beating heart of this city of poets and dreamers. If you love Kolkata, you'll love Kalighat. Every year, goats and other harmless animals are sacrificed to please the mighty goddess Kali. Even when she is pleased, you are not forgiven the long wait to get a glimpse of the deity.

Kalighat Kali Temple, Kolkata Reviews
Most famous Kali temple in West Bengal. The place is crowded all the time. A great spiritual place where one can find many Pandits and Sadhus. Also, tourists should be aware of some people who'll pretend to be helpful and try to extract money from them. The parking is free here. Also, one can find food joints, lodges and market nearby.
The Kalighat temple is an extremely famous temple in India which has been dedicated to Goddess Kali. The legend goes that Goddess Sati’s body parts fell all over the nation with the Kalighat temple being the site where her toes fell. Being an extremely sacred place, it is flocked by thousands of devotees every day. 🚩🚩।। जय माता दी ।।🚩🚩
Kalighat is one of the important pilgrim centres for the worshippers of the Mother Goddess. There is an interesting legend behind the formation of Kali Temple, which suggests that when Lord Shiva was furiously performing his dance (Pralay), keeping the corpse of Goddess Kali on his shoulders, his spinning wheel sliced off her dead body. Her body slices fell off at different points, where pilgrimage centers were formed later on. Kalighat temple is one such pilgrimage spot, where a toe of her right foot had fallen.
The worst experience in my entire journey. The pandits here are pretty sneaky and smooth. They will try to fool you. Just take off your shoes at one of the stalls and go in. Listen to no one just say thank you and move in. Or even better do not go there at all. There are so many beautiful Kali temple's in Kolkata. Why come to this piece of garbage?!! Just be a sensible person and go somewhere else. Please.
Nice place. Colonial feeling when u visit there. Beautiful iron made gates. Temple area is full of Lilly flowers smell
