Mother's Wax Museum - Review

Located in the New Town area of Kolkata, it is not only one of the rarest museums in the country, but apparently a popular one too. There are many factors that make this wax museum kolkata an exciting place to be in. First of all, the place got its name from Mother Teresa, who had been a significant personality in Indian history. Apart from that, the inspiration of this mothers wax museum also came from Madame Tussauds museum which is deemed to be a renowned museum itself. Wax museum in kolkata established in November 2014. The place houses over 19 full figured statue of different prominent figures. Since it is divided into sections (history, Bollywood, sports etc), you can easily check them out as per your convenience. A fun way to explore and brush up your knowledge, we must say!

Mother's Wax Museum, Kolkata Reviews

  • Excellent wax museum. Has wax statues of famous people from different walks of life - local, Indian and international. Also has some added sections like a Horror Room (superb!) and a Body Tattoo Room (based on lighting, superb as well). Provided ample opportunities to click really good shots. A selfie stick is recommended though a cellphone would work just fine. Guards are posted in many spots to ensure that statues are not touched or disturbed. Absolutely worth the ticket price. Highly recommended.

  • Very nice place to visit with family and kids. Nice collection. Some of statue are mind blowing, Just awesome. Location of the wax museum is too good because u can easily reach here by public transport means Bus or can also. Very neat and clean place . Some section is just wow... As u would love to 👽 aliens.. ghost section is very interesting. Some of Hollywood actor's are awesome ...joney deep the best one. Although a nice collection, very nice place. Must visit.

  • Mother's Wax Museum is a definitely a place which should be visited at least more than once. I am extremely impressed by this museum. Really a appreciable effort to connect with the visitor. People will come to know about renowned personalities from India and all over the world. Hosting a prized collection of life-sized wax figurines of legends, both late and living from varied walks of life. It's located on the top floor of the Finance Centre at New Town, opposite to gate 2 of Eco Park to which it is connected by a beautiful pedestrian subway. There is a cafeteria at 6th Floor and wonderful sitting arrangements are there. Please visit that floor and you will able to enjoy the beauty of nature as well as whole view of Eco Park. It's amazing. The ambiance of Museum is awesome. Security Guards of the museum are very much co-operative. They are requesting people not to touch wax statue. However, we don't care to listen to them. We should feel the essence of the place apart from clicking selfies in different pose. 250/- Ticket charge per person and water, food are prohibited. I will love to visit this place again and again

  • Very nice place to go, especially if this is your first time visiting a wax museum. Lots of fun for people of all age groups. I don't need to tell you that there are tons of photo ops here. Even the funny looking statues of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have a total "entertainment" factor. It's almost as if they're making fun of these guys.

  • We had a 10 hour lay over in kolkata. Decided to visit this place as it is near to the airport. Been there on a public holiday. Though it was crowded, if you like to have fun by posing along with the wax statues then this place is highly recommended. We were 4 and had great fun with the combination of those wax statues and our DSLR.
