Nehru Children Museum is one of the few rare museums in the country that intends to rekindle the children’s interest in mythology and helps them to reconnect with their roots. The museum has been named after Jawaharlal Nehru, a political personality, an iconic teacher and children’s favourite and is well frequented by tourists every day. The place is divided into various archives with Dolls Gallery being the most popular one. It showcases numerous dolls from over 100 countries, all vibrant and varied reflecting their culture beautifully. To add to it, there is a Ganesh Gallery too with myriad idols of Ganesha adorning the place. As if that’s not enough, the museum is also home to The Ramayana and Mahabharata era models, taking instances from different sections of the story and updating you on the various events of that period. Since the museum is four floors long, it may take some time to see it all, nonetheless, this one of a kind museum is something that you will definitely love to visit with kids!

My daughter demanded a doll so I took her there to show innumerable dolls from around the world. I also came to know on my visit that they have a very good arrangements for teaching variety of arts , many types of regional dance and many foreign language reading writing speaking courses.

Neheru Children Museum has four floors and every floor houses various galleries. It has got the biggest collection of dolls in eastern India. It organizes various workshops on recitation, acting, drawing and various other activities for children as well as for young kid. These workshops are really wonderful and various eminent personalities of the respective fields acts as the mentor. It remain open from 10 am to 7 pm apart from monday and tuesday.
A section for ramayana and mahabharata is a real treat for kids. The cute collection of ganesh murti, (activities of ganesh) is new. Nice dolls From all over the world can be found here. Dolls wearing dresses from all over India can be found. If any one is interest can donate their toy collection here. As like minded people will only understand it's try value if given to the musuem. It will take more than an hour to see the entire 3 storied building of dolls. Some are quite old where as a new collection from japan is really beautiful. The entry fees is 20rs and some art programs and tuitions are available in the ground floor for kids.
