For those who wish to experience Kolkata in its sacred essence must definitely come here at least once during their visit. Though there are a number of ghats in the city, this one particularly remains people’s favourite owing to the spectacular views of its surrounding. Coming here, you can see the architecture, that despite being worn out has plenty of charm. Just beside the place lies a beautiful park where you can get a nice motor free boat ride around the blues of the Hooghly enjoying the views of Howrah Bridge from there. It is said that the evening sunset in the place is one of the best things to see and experience in Kolkata.

  • Good place ....also you can ride boat.Located between the Water Gate and the St George's Gate of the Fort William, the monument to Prinsep is rich in Greek and Gothic inlays. It was restored by the state's public works department in November 2001 and has since been well-maintained. In its initial years, all royal British entourages used the Prinsep Ghat jetty for embarkation and disembarkation.

  • It's nice place. If you r interested in boating then there is arrangement for the same. They charge 400 for 30 minutes but it worth. U just love that silent feeling! Not a good place to hang out with family as you will see lots of young couples sitting everywhere & you can feel awkward.

  • This is nice place to spend time with your loved ones in very peaceful ambience in lap of nature. Not so much secured after evening. Not having much seating capacity in rain. You can opt for boating in Ganges for sometime but that is not so safe.It is up to you if you can take risk knowing swimming obviously. There is no charge/entry ticket. There is not much street food option available.

  • This historical ghat is a great tourist attraction, with lots of greeneries, shades, well-maintained structures and clean surrounding areas. Boat rides on the Ganges can also be availed from here. The Ghat is also ideal for holding various ritual ceremonies, and the authorities keep round the clock vigil to ensure that the area isn't polluted.

  • Very beautiful place. Mainly for couples, morning to night you will get police protection. Very safe place to visit with your girlfriend or wife. I want to say one more thing that, maintenance of the tomb was very poor and many junk writing were still visible on the pillars
