Imago Shopping Mall, Kota Kinabalu Reviews

  • This is one of the nicest mall around. The design is contemporary and welcoming. The toilets are modern and better build then the compatriots. And because of the wide variety of shops, one can easily spend a whole day. As if this is not enough, there are surrounding shops near the mall. And the complex itself is an integrated one with residences on top and around. Whilst going there by car is a straight forward affair, but because of the high density of people in the area, do expect a queue. Drop off point seems to be perpetually choked. Surprisingly, even though the mall seems spacious, and big, there are only 3 levels including a basement. The highlight seems to be the plentiful electronic and phone stores that stocks all popular brands out there. The mall also have a cinema as well so one can watch a movie, go grocery shopping and then supplement with any other shopping and then get some food too. The general consensus is that pricing in this mall and in fact in KK is not cheaper generally than West Malaysia and can sometimes be more expensive even though the standard of living is lower. Heck even some of the items may in some cases be even more expensive than Singapore!

  • Bad, bad review for the parking garage management. Two BIG problems: No warning at the street entrance that the garage is low ceiling. Tall cars do not fit. No way to turn around and exit when you go down the ramp and then can't fit. No way to contact anyone for help. No intercom buttons on ticket machines. So all the cars behind you have to back up into the street so you can back out and exit. VERY dangerous! Second BIG problem: If you lose your ticket, no way to exit the lot or call for help. No intercom buttons on the ticket machines and gates or ticket pay machines. Ticket pay machines do not give information on how to replace your ticket or pay the lost ticket fee. No map to find the garage manager's office. No signs in the garage to show where managers office is until you finally find it in a dark corner. It took me one long sweaty hour to locate the office, pay the fine and get out of the parking lot. Even though I had receipts showing I'd been in the mall for 1 1/2 hours and spent hundreds of dollars, they charged me Rm25 to exit! But they did say "Sorry". Never shopping at Imago again.

  • Same like any other malls in any Cities. You will find your familiar stalls and food here. Parking is poorly manage. Took us 30 min to get a parking. The red/green parking lot availability indicator can't be trusted. The parking wardens also do not manage traffic well. They keep directing cars to the parking lot when they are already full.

  • The best mall in Sabah yet. Probably because of the first mall in Sabah to ever make car park with light sign to indicate empty park slot. Moreover, The inside mall design is not bad. The layout is not confusing and easy to remember plus there are electronic location assistant on the ground floor where you can locate place of interest such as finding food court with easy touch screen navigation with big size screen (Please take care of it!). The water fountain is a bonus. It's beautiful especially during night.

  • One day wasn't enough to see all that this shopping mall offers. Truly gives the premium shopping centre feeling that other big malls such as Suria in KL city centre offers. Wide range of shops for all sorts of needs from fashion, to food and beverages, to grocery shopping or even entertainment. You simply just name it and its there! Loved the DC shop they have there.
