Lok Kawi Wildlife Park - Review
This is a huge wildlife park that is made up of two parts: the zoological and the botanical side. Among the many residents of the zoo are the Borneo Pygmy elephants, Sumatran rhinoceros, Orang Utan, Proboscis monkey, Malayan Tiger as well as a few species of deer. The botanical component offers visitors the chance to go jungle trekking along the botanical trail. The readily paved trail is approximately 1.4 kilometers long and the botanical component is about 200 acres in size. The aviary is a more lively section where you will hear myriads of sounds of the mynahs, greeting visitors who come to the park. At the aviary, there are many species of birds like the hornbill, pigeons, parrots, eagles, egrets and many more.
There is also a children's section of the zoo that has pygmy elephants, ponies and goats. Children can also enjoy elephant rides here.

Lok Kawi Wildlife Park, Kota Kinabalu Reviews
Park is nice. Not a wildlife park though. More of a caged zoo. Animals variety is good although when we visited both the tiger and the elephant exhibits were closed. Transportation is an issue since youll find a grab car if you're lucky, otherwise taxis are on standby to rip you off.
My last visit three years ago was more exciting since there were more animals around in this zoo. Elephants enclosure was closed down, tiger was alone with no one to play with, bears look malnourished. But, I am proud to see all the zoo staff worked hard to ensure this one and only zoo in Sabah remains open for public.
I saw buffaloes, birds,monkeys,otters,tiger,cats,reptiles...but no elephants. And the train ride's not available because it has broken down 😑
This place is filled with many endangered animals in other countries. This place also shows beautiful flowers and the rest again.
Just visited but not the same as before. Not so many animal to see. Just feel nothing special anymore. And the facilities not really well maintained.
