Connecting the districts of Kazimierz to Podgorze, this 145 meter long footbridge arcs over the same span of the river where an older bridge used to be. Why is it important? It was one of the last major crossing points on the way to the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Today, it is useful because tourists have come to more frequently access the charming Old Podgorze neighborhood. In fact, the bridge leads directly into a square filled with bars, cafes and restaurants. For a while now couples have been commemorating their love here by locking padlocks on the bridge and throwing the keys into the river. It’s a good place to take some pictures.
