To the east of Krakow’s Old Town, you’ll find a more than two hundred year old botanic garden. Spread over 9.6 hectares, this place was established because botany students at the Jagiellonian University needed a test garden. Flowers, medicinal herbs, orchids and endangered plant species can be found here. In spring and summer the attraction fairly bursts with vivid colors. But it’s still worth visiting at other times thanks to the climate controlled greenhouses and the garden museum. The great oak tree here is 300 years old, a last remnant of the ancient forests that once covered this land. Check the garden website for lecture and event schedules.

  • A wonderful place full of all kinds of plants and flowers - familiar and not so well known. There are often free days too, but it is not expensive to go in, and definitely worth the money if you do it that way. Also, they have concerts there quite often in the big house or, sometimes, in the big greenhouse! And they even ate open when Krakow has those, "night of the museum", events throughout the city when the paths are lit up by small garden lights and you can explore in the semi dark. I love this place in the spring and, especially, in the summer when the gardens are in full bloom. Got to be seen!

  • Absolutely amazing botanic garden in Krakow. There are 3 really nice greenhouses with many species of plants. Some of them are really huge, for example Schefflera in the 1st greenhouse. Go there, it is nice to see it!

  • Excellent. Always excellent. Undergoing renovations right now and seemingly will be for the foreseeable future. Do not use the vending machines near the front greenhouses though. I have been here twice and both times I used them they took my money and gave me nothing back.

  • Beautiful, quite and Serene place. It has plenty of time known and rare plants from various diversities. Also whole garden is not just well planned but also very well maintained.

  • It is a nice place to relax and admire flowers and various botanical species. Well maintained. There are also some vending machines in case you would like a drink or a snack.
